Skinny-brim hats re-emerged several years ago, as a popular style choice. So, I offered two skinny-brim Montecristi fedoras for a few years, then decided it was just too much inventory to try to maintain, and I removed the styles from my website.

Good for fedoras, porkpies, and other Panama hat styles. I have several dozens remaining. Brims 1.5 to 2+ inches. Weave counts/grades from 18 to 36. Order 3 or more and get them at my cost. Seriously. Take the entire inventory and I’ll do even better.

Vintage Montecristi Panama Hats

Here are some real treasures. When I first started buying Montecristi hats, the weaving was better. Yes, there are still great weavers today. But more weavers were weaving with higher quality weave then than now. I saved hundreds of them for youand your special clients.

Sizes from tiny to huge. Grades 18 to 63. Let’s talk. I have more than a thousand vintage Montecristi hats. Seems like you should have at least a few. Some are already blocked/shaped.

Custom Order Montecristi Panama Hats

Whatever you want. I can have them woven for you. You can specify grade, size of weaver form, height of weaver form, brim width. I can have them woven specifically for you. Your order is your order. It will be kept totally separate from other client orders and from my own orders. I don’t cherry pick the best hats to keep for myself.

Above is a sample order page. Size is the size of the wood form the weaver will use to weave the hat. I usually figure that hats will increase in size by 1 or 2 cm. Or not. Nothing about the hats is predictable in any normal sort of business way. That’s why I keep custom orders totally separate.

Hats can be woven on forms with heights of 10.3, 10.8, 11.3 cm. Taller or shorterforms can be made.

Brim widths could be 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 10.5 cm. Grades I work with are 18-19, 20-21, 22-23, 24-25, 26-27, and up into the 60s. I can order lower grades for you.

It takes time for hats to be woven. The higher the grade, the longer it takes to weave the hat. In addition to the time to weave the hat, every hat will receive full artisan preparation in every traditional stage. No stages will be skipped or left out.

Montecristi sellers sometimes skip artisan stages to lower their cost and increase their profit. I insist that every Montecristi hat I buy must be a totally traditional Montecristi hat, made as they were made a hundred years ago.

I can email an order form for you to fill in the details (see sample above). Or you can tell me what you want, I can complete the form, and send it to you for approval. Then I will send it to Montecristi to get prices.

It takes a few days to get the prices. I will add all the prices to your order form and send it to you for approval.

When you approve the order, a 40% deposit will be due. When all your hats are ready, remaining 60% balance is due. Hats will be shipped to me to verify what we receive. I will invoice you for shipping from Montecristi to me (DHL), shipping from me to you (USPS or UPS), plus customs duties.
